"Drop In" with Ian James

This Sunday "drop in" was a very nice, informal  event.  Gloria and myself called around at around 11.00 am  and enjoyed Ian James home hospitality.  While we were there John T and Maurice also "dropped in" and after tea and cake we looked at the Amanda water scooter hull and various Vincent industrial engines and parts that Ian had on display. The BSA Bantam that Ian rode in the 1965 Isle-of-Man TT races was also on view along with some photographs and awards that Ian got in his competition years.  Ian's neighbour, who has amongst his bikes a BMW also joined us and he and Maurice were able to compare "BMW" notes.  We left around 1.00 pm and Ian reports that there was a steady stream of people through the afternoon including, Ian A, Kathy, James and Jack on their Vincent/Steib outfit, Dave D on his Vincent, Alan B on his Honda, Rob and Val on their "D" and Martin on his BMW.  Just as everyone had left and Ian was thinking about clearing away Tony and his Dutch friend Jaap arrived with Tony's BSA on a trailer having been to Gaydon.
Thanks from all to Ian and Breda for their warm hospitality.

finishers medal
A prized possession, a TT finishers award.
Anyone who's been involved with racing in the I-o-M knows that a finish there feels like a win on an ordinary circuit.
