Coventry to Brighton Run 2010

Thanks to Valerie Smart who sent me the report below and the pictures taken at the Concourse in Hove .

We had a fabulous ride down on Saturday, the day couldn't have been better.   We had bacon butties and Coffee/Tea, donated by the BMCT before we left the Transport Museum.  Then it was the usual coffee stop at Study's followed later by lunch in Twyford at The Waggon & Horses.  The weather being so nice we could all sit out in the garden.   Afternoon tea at the New Barn Coffee Shop, and then arriving at Hove beach front for 4.30pm to await the Mayor of Brighton and Hove.  Even the rides in between were enhanced by the lovely weather and we had a superb meal at the Hotel.  All in all I think everyone had a great time.

I spoke to Don who told me that Ian had a bit of drama before the start of the run when he strained his right leg starting his Vincent outfit.  Help was at hand and he got it going with a push.  A left leg starting technique was used for the rest of the weekend.  Young James rode pillion with dad and even younger Jack was in the side-car.
Other Coventry section members who enjoyed the ride to Brighton were Dave D, Tony R, Paul B, Chris W and Mick P.  Maurice also rode as far as Henley.  A special mention for Paul whose Comet picked up the Alexander trophy for the Best Vincent HRD Motorcycle.
Eddy.
