Darts Evening

As darts matches go this turned out to be an epic struggle between the two teams.  The two teams were labelled A: VOC and B: VMCC.  For reasons unknown team A had eight members and team B seven.  Starting with a double proved problematic for both sides until Ian James found the mark for team B with a dazzling display of precision missile management.
Team B showed amazing skill, restraint and good manners by scoring as few points as possible while team A continued their quest for a starting double.  Team B needed just a double one to finish so with great sportsmanship  they tantalisingly peppered the area around the double one while team A also got down to a double one to finish.
At this point the game went into marathon mode with both sides unable to deal the coupe de grace.   Would victory go to the side that managed to stay awake long enough?  A swift change of rules was implemented; first team to get any double was the winner.  Sensing her chance for ultimate glory Judith threw away her crutches and slotted a dart into double top.
A fun evening was had by both teams with the reading rooms filled with the sound of much laughter.  Team B may have got to the finish first but everyone that took part won.

Judith retrieves her winning dart as Bob cheers with relief.  (Well he had bravely stood scoring right next to the darts board while all and sundry threw darts in every conceivable direction!)  N.B.  Nobody hit the light this year.  Well done Bob for mounting the lamp much higher and out of the way.
