Founder’s Day 2010 We had our usual stand at VMCC Founder’s Day at Stanford
Hall. The event is organised by the
Taverner’s Section of the VMCC. The
event was traditionally held behind the hall but for the last two years it has
moved to the area in front of the hall. This
year the club stands were located at the end of the drive to the left of the
hall. The auto-jumble was the first
thing visitors encountered and then there was a space between the jumble and
club stand area. The auto-jumble
seemed to absorb most of the visitors and it seemed a long time before any
people reached the club displays and then the numbers seemed small.
I suspect that many visitors didn’t know the club stands were there at
all. On a positive note our stand
always seemed to have quite a few people looking at and talking about our bikes
. We had a good and varied display of bikes with mostly local owned
"A" singles, "B" twins, "C" twins and a
"D" twin. From further afield we had Brian Chapman on his twin
and Jacqueline Bickerstaff on her much travelled early HRD single. Many
thanks to all who assisted or brought along their bikes to display.
