Lunch Run to Herefordshire.

This was another excellent day out on a Vincent or whatever other motorcycle you were fortunate enough to be riding.  We had old friends from Scotland as guests staying overnight.  By the time we had made our fond farewells on Wednesday morning it was too late to get to the Wellesbourne start so Gloria and I decided to head straight to the lunch stop.  Chris C. kindly supplied the notes below and Bernard sent the photographs.  Eddy.

Continuing our week of decent club runs in good weather (started by the Roy Bourne) Mike M. did us proud with a trip down to Herefordshire. We met at the Wellesbourne Airport Cafe in brilliant sunshine - Mike M , Chris W, Maurice and visitor Stuart plus Chris C. on a Rapide.  The trip down was via Stow in the Wold, outskirts of Cheltenham, round Gloucester and past Ross on Wye.  The lunch stop was at the Harewood End Inn where we were met by Bernard and Woody (Rap and Knight) and there was a good menu to occupy us.  Half way through our meals the sound of a Vincent prompted the thought - have we lost one .... ? but no, Eddy & Gloria had been delayed by visitors but must have heard about the puddings on offer.  After lunch Mike had arranged a visit to the Violette Szabo Museum at Wormelow, just a few miles up the road and at the former home the SOE war time operator.  (Her life was made into the film "Carve Her Name With Pride").  The current owner of Violette's house is Rosemary Rigby MBE, who has a dedicated herself to the museum and documenting this incredibly brave woman who perished in the hands of the Gestapo.  The whole experience was extremely moving and well worth the visit.  Later on separate groups formed depending upon destinations and by the time I arrived home there was 235 miles clocked.  Maurice was full of admiration for his pal Stuart who'd managed 200 miles on his 'hogalike' Honda.  Thanks Mike for an excellent day out!
